Contact inquiries

When you use the contact form, the site stores the name, email address, inquiry details, and message you provide so Neal can review and respond. This information is not sold or used for unrelated marketing.

Contact inquiries remain stored until deleted; there is currently no automatic expiry for these records. You can request access, correction, or deletion using the process below. Information may also be used to protect the service, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Please do not submit confidential material or personal information about other people.

Site analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage, page and section engagement, traffic sources, and whether key actions such as reading the book, subscribing, supporting the work, or requesting a quote are working. Dashboard analytics include section views, filter choices, repository views and drilldowns, calendar selections, and search usage and result counts. Contact-form names, email addresses, message text, repository search text, and other free-text contents are not sent to Google Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site configuration.

When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers and receives technical information from your browser, including network information needed to receive requests. Google may process information from this and other sites under its own policies and your Google settings. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. The site sends canonical page addresses without visitor query text. Google Analytics event and user data retention is currently set to 14 months; aggregate reports may last longer.

Website activity storage

The site also saves activity events in its Cloudflare D1 database: page and section views, navigation, downloads, selected filters, chat actions, form progress and outcomes, visible-page engagement time, and basic performance and error categories. Records include approved event details, time, page, broad device category, traffic-source labels, and a random browser-tab session identifier that resets after 30 minutes of inactivity. No names, email addresses, message contents, raw search text, full referring URLs, raw IP addresses, or user-agent strings are included in activity records. Raw events are eligible for removal after 180 days and are cleaned up during subsequent activity; anonymous daily totals are retained. The public dashboard displays only aggregate counts. Short-lived hashed network counters help limit automated traffic. Contact inquiries and AI conversations are stored separately under the terms above and below.

Your analytics preference

AI conversations and direct texting

When enabled, Neal’s AI assistant sends your questions and recent conversation context to OpenAI to generate replies using approved public portfolio information. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information. The website stores the conversation for up to seven days of access, protected by a random, secure browser cookie. Expired records are removed during subsequent chat activity. Clear chat deletes the stored conversation for this browser. OpenAI may separately retain API data under its own policies.

Quick answers and the guided contact flow use prepared website content without calling an AI service. AI is optional; when it is unavailable, you can continue directly by text. Guide selections and unsent starting messages remain in your browser memory.

Transcript & privacy lets you download a text copy, open your browser’s print dialog, prepare an email, or clear this website chat. Copies contain saved AI messages and prepared answers opened during your current visit, grouped separately. They exclude unsent drafts and TextFree messages. Email opens your own mail app or share options; this website does not send email or collect a recipient address. Long transcripts can be copied in full into your draft. Copies you download, print, email, share, or save as PDF are under your control; clearing the website conversation cannot delete those copies. Analytics records the export action, format, and message count, never the transcript contents.

The assistant is AI, not Neal. Its answers may be inaccurate and do not confirm quotes, availability, or commitments. Neal’s photo identifies the direct texting option; AI replies and your messages use labeled icons.

Daily, hashed network identifiers and request counters help limit spam and usage. Brief in-memory network counters also help reject bursts of requests without adding activity records. Chat activity may be counted in Google Analytics, but conversation text and phone numbers are not sent there. Choosing to text Neal opens your messaging app with his business number. You decide what to send; TextFree conversations are separate and are not synchronized with this website.

External services

Hosting and database providers, including ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare, process website requests and stored records to operate the site. Their infrastructure may process IP addresses, request details, and security logs separately from the site’s activity records. OpenAI processes submitted AI chats, Google processes eligible analytics, and TextFree processes texts sent through its service. Provider processing and storage may occur outside your state or country.

Links to Substack, Stripe, LinkedIn, and GitHub take you to services with their own privacy practices. Support payments are processed by Stripe, and this site does not collect payment card details. Your email app and provider handle transcripts you choose to email. These services may retain their own records; deleting a website record does not automatically delete provider records.

Questions or deletion requests

Use the contact form and select “General inquiry” to ask a privacy question or request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted. Identify the relevant inquiry without sending sensitive identity documents. Neal may need to verify that the information belongs to you. Records needed for legal obligations or disputes may need to be retained; applicable privacy rights are not limited by these notices.

Material changes to these practices will be described on this page with an updated effective date and additional notice where required. September 7, 2026 update: clarified analytics choices, browser storage, and accessibility support. Information and professional services

Website content, writing, dashboards, prepared answers, and AI replies provide general information. They are not individualized legal, medical, tax, or investment advice. Data and AI outputs can contain errors or become outdated. Confirm material information before relying on it.

A form submission, chat, text, or support payment does not by itself create a consulting engagement or confidentiality agreement. Scope, fees, deliverables, confidentiality, and other engagement terms must be agreed with Neal in writing. Employment, revenue, performance, and other outcomes are not guaranteed. Nothing here overrides an agreed contract or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Support and subscriptions

One-time support payments fund Neal’s independent work and are not charitable contributions eligible for a charitable tax deduction. They do not purchase consulting services or a paid subscription. Paid book access is offered separately through Substack; review the price, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms shown there before subscribing. Use the contact form for questions about a one-time payment, including an accidental or duplicate payment.

The Mio Collection

The collection is currently a preview, with ordering disabled. Your bag selections are stored in this browser tab for checkout navigation and reloads. No payment details or delivery address are collected in the preview, and preview activity is excluded from site analytics.

When ordering is enabled, embedded payment fields send payment details directly to Stripe. Delivery and contact details needed for production and shipping are shared with the assigned fulfillment provider. The website keeps order references, purchased items, payment status and fulfillment status separately from analytics, without storing card details. An essential, secure checkout cookie protects order access in your browser for up to two days. Unpaid abandoned records are eligible for deletion after two days; paid order records are retained for order support, accounting and dispute handling until reviewed for deletion. Attribution and content rights

Employer, client, and university references describe professional history or education and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement of this independent site. Recommendations describe the named individuals’ past experiences, not promises of future results or statements on behalf of their organizations.

Neal retains rights in his original content to the extent provided by law. Third-party marks, quoted material, and other contributions remain subject to their owners’ rights. This notice does not restrict uses allowed by law. To report an attribution, accuracy, or rights concern, identify the relevant content through the contact form.
